James Lehner is a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon at Dayton Children's Hospital. Dr. Lehner received his undergraduate degree from Notre Dame and his medical degree from Ohio State University. He completed an internship at Mount Carmel Medical Center, Columbus, residency programs in both general and orthopaedic surgery at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton and a fellowship in Scoliosis at Kosair Crippled Children's Hospital, Louisville. He served as Chief of Staff at Dayton Children's, has been an attending physician at myelomeningocele clinic, pediatric orthopaedic clinic and the director of spine clinic at Dayton  Children's Hospital since 1979 and the adult orthopaedic spine clinic at Miami Valley Hospital since 1979. He currently serves on the Board of United Rehabilitation Services. Dr. Lehner has been a certified high school track and cross country official since 1985 and has participated in medical mission trips to Bangladesh, St. Lucia, Haiti, Kenya and the Dominican Republic.

I chose my specialty because...

after fracturing my femur at the age of 7, I've had a lifelong desire to help others who are going through what I went through at such a young age.

I found Dr. Lehner to be competent compassionate, highly skilled and happy. He will do whatever you can to help you avoid surgery which is quite difference in some that right away recommend surgery and he has a great personality. I like him a lot. Hello Okay, I guess this is it. I'm going to hang up. Thank you all.

Staff was extremely professional. Pleased with my experience.

Staff was to schedule an MRI for us. It's been a week and 1 day since they said they would schedule and we haven't heard from them at all, which is unusual for that staff to do that.
