get to know me

I chose my specialty because...

as an RN I cared for surgical patients on 3 East for 8 years. As I transition to my role as an APRN, I am ready for the challenge of caring for these patient’s in a different scope of practice and expand my knowledge, clinical skills and critical thinking skills. I want to make a difference in what is often a difficult time for these patients and families.

I chose to work at Dayton Children's because...

I love working with kids! They make each day happier and brighter. I love the relationships and bonds I have developed and will hopefully continue to develop with the patients and families that I care for.

Dayton Children's is special because...

it allows me to continue my passion and care for kids and their families while also being a fun place to work!

I always, yes always, felt like I was part of my son's care team. Always, felt well informed about what's to come, the reason, and the how. His care seemed progressive and necessary. I did not feel as if there were testing and procedures that were being done that didn't need to be. Most of the nurses were very loving.

Amy is the nurse practitioner who saw my daughter. She was wonderful! So kind to my daughter & talked to her through the whole procedure to make her feel more comfortable. After she was finished she told my daughter many times how well she did & how brave she was. Then she went out of her way to find a toy specifically for my daughter that she loved! I cannot say enough positive things about our experience. Everyone in the surgery department has always been wonderful, but today they were over the top! They worked us into an appointment quickly within an hour of my phone call & took such good care of my daughter.

Not so much the provider but scheduling was a problem. Had an appt and it wasn't recognized. Had to reschedule it which was disturbing. No one knew why. So hopefully this won't happen again or to others who have to transport from far away.

The doctors and nurses were very communicatable to my understanding of the things I didn't know they were awesome and I will give them a 10
