Shelly Rustagi, MD, is a pediatric gastroenterologist at Dayton Children's Hospital. She is originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana, and comes to Dayton Children’s from a fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Colorado. She served her residency at Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Medical Center and got her medical and bachelor’s degrees at the University of Missouri.
Dr. Rustagi is particularly interested in caring for children with celiac disease and eosinophilic esophagitis, in which the esophagus becomes inflamed due to allergens. She also has a special interest in resident education.
Dr. Rustagi loves to travel – she’s been to four continents already - and loves to swap travel tales!

Provider is always behind with schedule. We never had 1 appointment that was on-time since and we always show up early or on-time with our appointments. From check-in to provider showing up always takes atleast an hour of wait. Not worth it for a 15 min. consultutation. I hope this gets resolved or improved.

Dr Shelly was personable and made the visit easy by the way she listened and verbalized her understanding of why we made an appointment. Explained her thoughts and why she was ordering the tests. Treatment plan was appropriate and follow up established before we left.

If I could score higher than a 10 I would! We received excellent care!

The after-visit notes were not available, and the paper that was given afterwards when we were checking out did not contain the full details of what to do following the appointment. And I think that would have been helpful if brands and a full explanation was included.
