The gastroenterology department was great. The lab department not so much. Getting a young child into the lab knowing he’s going to get stuck with needles is hard enough. But when you go in and nothing is ready. The child is watching you dig through all these needles and containers. It makes them upset. They should have gauze, bandaids and wraps on hand before drawing the blood. Parents holding the child down while your dropping things and got to leave the room to get a bandaid etc makes for a hectic experience.

Dr Shelly was very thorough in asking questions and explaining why she was asking certain questions. She offered several options for treatment and started with the least invasive option. She explained the time frame we should use before moving on to the next step, if necessary. She's also very personable.
