advocacy

a powerful voice for kids

Dayton Children’s Hospital is a leading advocate for children in our region – providing a much needed voice for kids. The hospital actively engages in public policy discussions to fulfill the hospital mission to provide exceptional clinical care, research new treatments, train the next generation of pediatric providers, and improve the health and well-being of all children.

We have a special interest in, and commitment to meeting the health care needs of all the children of our region, and we work to develop and sustain systemic solutions to child health concerns. We support public health and safety policies that advance child health issues identified by the hospital’s community health needs assessment including improved birth outcomes, access to appropriate mental health care treatment, improved access and funding for chronic conditions, and resources for child abuse treatment and prevention.

Our staff works in close collaboration with city, state and federal legislators to identify and advance public policy that meets this goal. We also partner with governmental agencies, nonprofit organizations and businesses to improve the health status of children beyond the walls of the hospital.
