Ajay Goenka, MD, is a board-certified pediatric neurologist and epilepsy specialist at Dayton Children's Hospital. Dr. Goenka was born and raised in India where he completed his medical school education. He spent his pediatric neurology residency at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein University in Bronx, New York. After also completing his fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at Montefiore Medical Center in New York, Dr. Goenka joined the pediatric neurology practice at Dayton Children’s Hospital. During his time here at Dayton Children’s Dr. Goenka has developed a special interest in pediatric epilepsy.

When asked why he chose to specialize in neurology he responded, “I love working with kids and with the help of modern technology in fields of child neurology and epilepsy, we are able to do wonders.”

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Goenka enjoys trying different cuisines and hiking!

  • General neurology - developmental delays, numbness/tingling, weakness, ataxia (unsteady gait), hyper/hypotonia
  • Movement disorders - tics, Tourette's syndrome, tremors, chorea, clonus, dystonia
