You may have seen social media re-posts that we medically kidnapped babies from a COVID-positive mother. While we are not at liberty to share the details of any particular case, we do want to share why and how babies get to Dayton Children’s.

Dayton Children’s is not a birthing hospital. Babies must be transferred here. No baby is transferred here without the parent’s consent. They are normally transferred when they need specialized, medically-complex care.

During this pandemic, we continue to follow the best care practices to ensure that everyone – patients, families and staff – are safe.
