characters of favorite children's books come to life in Dayton Children's annual Halloween parade
Hundreds of Dayton Children's doctors, nurses and staff dressed up to treat patients to a Halloween parade. A cast of characters from favorite children’s books, from Dr. Seuss, to Rainbow Fish, to the Wizard of Oz went room to room, delivering goodies to patients and inviting those who could come along to join the parade. "We want to make sure that children always have a happy Halloween, even when they can't leave the hospital," says Karen Muller, child life manager. "This event always helps lift their spirits."
In the morning, patients had the opportunity to browse the costume shop and pick out something special to wear. Then they could join the parade or wait in their rooms for the parade to pass by with treats. Patients as young as six weeks old took part in the fun.
