TJ’s Place of Hope

TJ’s Place of Hope is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization that works with people ages 12 to 25 who are struggling with substance abuse and addiction, as well as other mental health issues such as eating disorders, self-harm, social anxiety issues, depression, and suicidal thoughts. They provide their members with a safe and confidential environment and offer a variety of support services that all center around building supportive and influential relationships with the volunteers there. They also encourage youth to express themselves through various music and art opportunities that are available at their facility. They promote peer encouragement amongst the youth that they serve, but they also offer individual support without the need for peer involvement. They can offer faith-based support but it is not required. There is no fee for their services.

*TJ’s Place of Hope is staffed by individuals whose lives have been touched in one way or another by mental illness. They are background checked and never see a child alone – there are always two volunteers at the house at all times. They are not licensed mental health professionals.
