The Connor Group pledges $1 million in honor of Dr. Dole

Committed to helping Dayton Children’s Hospital reach new heights in pediatric care, The Connor Group is asking the Dayton community to participate in a $1 million challenge grant for Dayton Children’s new patient tower. For every gift pledged to the Reaching New Heights campaign between now and June 2017, the Connor Group will match dollar for dollar up to $1 million.

“It’s important we continue to provide world-class spaces at Dayton Children’s to care for our kids,” Larry Connor, managing partner of The Connor Group. “We are pledging $1 million but I am also asking community leaders to really think about what it means to have a world-class hospital in our back yard.  I urge you to reach as deep as you can and join me with a substantial contribution.  It’s an investment that can’t be beat, because it’s an investment in our children, their health and our future.”

A special place

The Connor Group Kids and Community Partnerships’ gift will help provide a special lounge for families whose children are being treated for cancer or blood disorders at Dayton Children’s. This space will allow families to celebrate holidays and birthdays together when their child is hospitalized, relax outside of the patient room and interact with other cancer and blood disorder families.

This space will be named the Connor-Dole Family Lounge, in honor of Mukand Dole, MD, a hematology/oncology specialist at Dayton Children’s.  Dr. Dole’s encouragement and support helped hundreds of children battle cancer over the years, while still allowing them to do all the activities that kids like to do.   This lounge will be an important part of providing a healing environment that is just right for kids who are battling serious illnesses.

“We are incredibly thankful to The Connor Group and its amazing support of the hospital,” says Deborah A. Feldman, president and CEO of Dayton Children’s.  “This support will help create the best spaces for providing life-saving care to our region’s most critically ill babies, children and teens. It’s this sort of commitment from the community that will take this project from good to great.”
