26th Annual Cares for Kids Radiothon raises funds for new mobile unit

The 26th Annual K99.1FM Cares for Kids Radiothon took place on October 27 and raised $217,284 for Dayton Children’s Hospital. The funds raised will help the hospital purchase a new Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) – an ambulance used for transporting the most seriously ill and injured children. In the 26 years since its inception, this live broadcast event has raised more than $5.97 million to provide life-saving equipment, supplies, expanded services, and more for the hospital.

“It’s hard to believe that we’ve been on the air with Radiothon for 26 years. There’s nothing more important than serving the community in a such a big way. K99.1FM and Dayton Children’s Hospital will always be linked together,” says Nick Roberts, Director of Radio Operations, Cox Media Group Ohio.

Dayton Children’s Hospital is a member of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, and K99.1FM Cares for Kids Radiothon, including long-time hosts Nancy and Woody, is an important part of that partnership. This year’s Radiothon was presented by sponsor Joseph Airport Toyota Hyundai.
