plan your visit

At the Dayton Children’s orthopedic center, we look forward to meeting new patients and caring for their orthopedic concerns. Reading through our office policies will help you know what to expect before your child’s first appointment.

making an appointment

We schedule same-day and next-day appointments for patients who have a need that requires immediate care, such as a fracture. If your child has a non-urgent need, we usually will be able to make an appointment within a few days of your call.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call the Dayton Children's orthopedic center as far in advance as possible so we may use that time slot to schedule another patient. If you miss your appointment and do not let us know in advance, you will be charged a $25 no-show fee.

We make a sincere effort to adhere to our appointment schedule, but sometimes delays are unavoidable—such as when one of our doctors is called away to perform emergency surgery. We appreciate your patience in these situations, and will do our best to keep you informed while you wait.

before your first appointment

If your child had X-rays taken at a non-Dayton Children’s facility, please bring the scans with you to your child’s appointment. If your child had X-rays taken at a Dayton Children’s facility (including an urgent care location), you do not need to bring the scans with you.

Please bring your child’s insurance card to the appointment as well.

Bring with you any bracing your child may have regarding their condition. Wear loose fitting clothes. If visiting for a lower limb condition, please wear loose pants or shorts. You may bring a change of clothes as well.

fees, payments and insurance

Our clinics accept most major insurance plans. If you have health insurance, we will gladly file a claim with your health insurance company. After the claim has been processed, we will send you a bill for whatever amount is not covered by your insurance company. You are responsible for paying that amount.

Co-payments are due at the time of service. If you do not have insurance, or your insurance policy does not include our practice, we ask that you pay your bill in full at the time of your child’s office visit. For your convenience, we accept all major credit cards, cash and checks.
