Objectives:
- Describe the pathophysiology of neuromuscular disease with respect to pulmonary function and respiratory mechanics.
- Cite how neuromuscular pathophysiology influences breathing during sleep.
- Identify the most common polysomnographic features found in patients with neuromuscular disease and sleep disordered breathing.
- Demonstrate how a positive airway pressure titration polysomnogram is successfully performed for patients with neuromuscular disease.
