comprehensive surgical care for infants, children and teens
Dayton Children’s Hospital provides comprehensive surgical care for infants, children and teens in an environment that is just right for them.
Our board-certified pediatric surgeons have advanced medical training and extensive experience caring for kids, and they collaborate with other members of the surgical care team to ensure that each child’s unique needs are met. In addition, Dayton Children’s uses pediatric anesthesiologists, the only anesthesiologists in the region trained to safely sedate children of all sizes.

conditions we treat
There is no way to prevent appendicitis, but with the right diagnostic tests and antibiotics, most cases are identified and treated without complications.
chest wall deformities
Chest wall deformities are structural abnormalities in the chest. The two most common types are pectus carinatum and pectus excavatum. Our surgery team evaluates and treats both conditions.
Hernias are fairly common in kids. Babies (especially preemies) can even be born with them. There are different types of hernias, and each requires different levels of medical care.
