get to know me

I chose my specialty because...

working in the field of Developmental Pediatrics has always been more just than a job to me. It is extremely challenging and rewarding at the same time, and I cannot imagine myself doing anything else. I chose my specialty because children with developmental disabilities have always had a special place in my heart. I believe that individuals with different abilities have their own sets of smarts and unique gifts. In fact, working with them tends to bring out the best in the people who truly care for them, and I know that from experience.

I believe that when a child’s future flashes before their parents’ eyes and it doesn’t look good, we have to find ways to make it better… and there are many, many ways to make it better. Pointing families in the right direction and walking with them along their journey to a brighter future is what I’m here for.

I chose to work at Dayton Children's because...

of its commitment to serving our patients and their families with compassionate care regardless of socioeconomic status.  Of course, I should also mention that, although I loved those years of living in a high-rise building in the Big Apple, raising my kids away from the concrete jungle so that they can climb trees, walk barefoot on green grass and build snowmen with pure-driven snow seemed like the right thing to do!

Dayton Children's is special because...

we offer comprehensive medical services, both inpatient and outpatient, in an emotionally supportive setting.

She listens. She's a very great doctor with children that are very young or any child, matter of fact, and she listens, she cares, and she's just a wonderful doctor and we appreciated her.

Dr. Amisola took time out of her day to definitely listen to all the concerns I had as a parent. She used strength-based approach to make sure that she was getting a whole picture of my son. She was, had a very good bedside manner with my son and interacted with him appropriately and made him feel comfortable in a doctor setting, which usually makes him really anxious. She definitely took some of the anxiety off my plate and made me feel seen, heard, and appreciated, and I just really appreciate her care for my son.

She was absolutely incredible. She was so attentive and listens to all our concerns. She explained things in a way we could understand. You could tell she truly cares and wants to help. I am so blessed she was the one to take care of my son!!
