Objectives:

  1. Illustrate change in respiratory system physiology with age, and how that impacts treatment decisions for children with respiratory disorders and breathing control disorders.
  2. Discuss change in normal sleep with age.
  3. Describe how to differentiate between normal and abnormal sleep.
  4. Recognize how to implement treatment strategies for children with gas exchange abnormalities and/or different forms of control of breathing disorders.
