Specialized care can be difficult to find close to home. Fortunately for the children of the Miami Valley region, we have teamed up with Nationwide Children's to hold a monthly pediatric airway management clinic at Dayton Children's. Meredith Merz, MD, and Richard Kang, MD, provide care every second Friday to children with airway conditions.

Airway conditions are often complex and our new service provides expert care for stenosis of larynx and subglottic region, bronchomalacia, laryngomalacia, stridor, and complications of tracheostomyand ventilator dependant children, and more. In the past, children and families may have had to drive one or more hours to receive the specialty care provided in the airway management clinic.

“We are now able to provide care for these kids with complex airway issues right here in Dayton rather than having to send the families to another facility,” said Karen Stormer, administrative manager for ambulatory services at Dayton Children’s. “It’s more convenient for the kids and families.”
