"This is a brand new national certification. Our emergency department nurses are among the first nurses to ever hold this certification. We are extremely proud," says Cindy Burger, RN, MS, critical care and emergency trauma services director at Dayton Children's.

The Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN®) and the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB®) have developed the Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN) exam.
