Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Quality Care Award

Dayton Children’s Cystic Fibrosis Center is honored with a 2016 Quality Care Award from the CF Foundation for recognizing outstanding quality improvement processes and accomplishments. The award recognizes a sustained commitment to quality improvement resulting in improved clinical outcomes. The Dayton Children's Center was one of 21 centers recognized out of 64 centers.

In addition, the Dayton Children’s Cystic Fibrosis Center received renewal of accreditation from the National Cystic Fibrosis Foundation following a scheduled site visit earlier this year. There are 120 Cystic Fibrosis centers nationwide.

The center is one of six accredited centers in Ohio, whichisled by Gary Mueller, MD, center director and pediatric cystic fibrosis program director, and Hari Polenakovik, MD, and Gary Onady, MD, who are co-associate adult program directors.

Our center follows 170 patients with cystic fibrosis providing specialized multidisciplinary care to this complex patient population, including Luke, whose story is below. Patients are seen at a minimum of a quarterly basis in the center.
