Uses:C3 is decreased in autoimmune disease, neonatal respiratory distress syndrome, bacteremia, tissue injury, and chronic hepatitis. C3 is increased in acute inflammatory disease and atopic dermatitis.
Limitations:Detects both biologically active and inactive C3.
