Turnaround:3 -4 days
Specimen:Please be sure to specify the site of collection.
Volume:Collect a swab from the specified site and place in viral/Chlamydia transport medium
Container:Swab in viral/chlamydia transport medium
Temperature:Transport on ice. Refrigerate if transport is delayed more than 1 hour
Rejection:Specimens not submitted in Viral/chlamydia transport medium will be rejected.
Normal:No Chlamydia trachomatis/pneumoniae/psittaci isolated.
Uses:To detect and identify infections caused by Chlamydia trachomatis/pneumoniae/psittaci.
Limitations:Proper specimen collection and transport are critical in the detection of etiological agents. A negative result does not rule out a chlamydia infection.
