Dayton Children’s division of pulmonary medicine is staffed by pediatric specialists experienced in handling the inpatient and outpatient care of children of all ages with acute and chronic respiratory problems.
Our department is home to the Regional Cystic Fibrosis Center, which has been accredited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the successful Asthma Care Program, which ensures children with asthma receive consistent, high-quality care as well as patient and family education.

- Pulmonary rehabilitation
- Care of children requiring home ventilators or tracheostomy
- Care of infants requiring home apnea monitoring
- Pulmonary function laboratory with spirometry and diffusion capacity; infant pulmonary function testing
- Sleep laboratory with polysomnography and sleep testing
- Five-channel somnograms to evaluate infants for sleep apnea or airway obstruction
- Exercise testing laboratory
- Fiberobtic bronchoscopy to diagnose airway obstruction and other anomalies of the respiratory tract
- Education programs for children with asthma and their parents
- Smoking cessation programs for teens and adults; CPR instruction (education programs)
