Visitation and Sleepovers
Visitation hours for family and friends
Parents and/or legal guardians of hospitalized patients are encouraged to stay with their child during their stay.
Posted hospital visitation hours for those other than parents are 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Any visitors coming outside of normal visiting hours will need to check in at the nurse’s station.
Visitation may be temporarily suspended anytime there’s a community-wide contagious disease outbreak; this will be communicated on our website.
Special care units
Special care units (such as pediatric intensive care and the regional Level III newborn intensive care unit) have limited visiting privileges. Check with special care units for visiting information.
Tips on visiting your child
Bring in special belongings from home such as books, toys and photographs.
Spend as much time as possible with your child. If you can't visit, call on the phone and encourage your child to call you. Another person who is close to your child may be able to come when you cannot.
Leave a personal item such as a scarf or tie with your child when you leave. This will remind him or her you are coming back.
Remind florists and family members that your child is not allowed to receive latex balloons. Make sure any balloons for your child are mylar.
Sleepovers for parents
To respect all patients, the hospital staff may limit the number of visitors in a patient’s room to one parent overnight.
- Family lounges and waiting areas are available for the comfort of families and visitors.
- For safety reasons, overnight sleeping in lobbies, waiting rooms or open public areas is not allowed
