Dayton Children's named #1 employer in Ohio by Forbes for second year!

Forbes news release header

Dayton Children’s was named the number one employer in Ohio on Forbes list of America’s Best-in-State Employers for the second year in a row. This prestigious award recognizes employers who prioritize employment topics like working conditions, diversity, salary and potential for development.

America's Best-in-State Employers 2023 were identified based on 2.1 million employer recommendations from employees working for companies with more than 500 employees in the United States. Forbes partnered with market research company Statista — a leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider — to conduct the study. Respondents were also asked how likely they’d be to recommend their employer to others, and to nominate organizations in industries outside of their own.

“We are beyond honored to be recognized for the second year in a row as the number one employer in the state of Ohio,” said Debbie Feldman, president and CEO of Dayton Children’s. “At Dayton Children’s, we are dedicated to having a culture that supports our employees, that values and respects differences and prizes collaboration. This ranking reaffirms our commitment to go above and beyond to ensure that Dayton Children’s remains the best place to work in Ohio.”

When asked why “there’s no place better to be” than Dayton Children’s employees shared:

  • “Earn top-notch benefits that cover my entire family (including my two dogs)!” – Ellen Courlas, director, talent acquisition and onboarding
  • “Feel fulfilled!” – Benjamin Banning, philanthropy officer
  • “Start your second career!” – Alisa Foster, talent acquisition onboarding specialist
  • “Dress up like a superhero!” – Gretchen Eckstein, community fundraising manager
  • "Grow personally and professionally!" - Emily Weidig, speech pathologist
  • "Work with a team to improve the health of our patients." -- Beth Linegang, RN, clinical resource nurse

This is the second time Dayton Children’s has made the list. This is the fifth year for the magazine’s Best-in-State Employers survey, which aims to capture the differences in how companies are perceived in various parts of the country.
