when should I choose urgent care?

Dayton Children’s urgent care centers are the only urgent care centers in the Dayton region that are fully staffed by board-certified pediatricians. Our urgent care centers compliment your child’s doctor by offering care when the doctor’s office is typically closed.

Sometimes illnesses and injuries aren’t life threatening but need medical attention on the same day. If that’s the case, and your doctor doesn’t have an appointment available, consider going to an urgent care center.

Urgent care centers typically allow walk-ins without appointments, and are equipped and staffed to treat minor, non-critical issues. Patients will usually be seen by a doctor and might be able to get X-rays or blood drawn if needed.

trusted pediatric care, when you need it

Dayton Children’s urgent care locations offer expert pediatric care for non-emergency conditions when your child’s doctor isn’t available. Staffed exclusively by pediatric-trained providers, these centers ensure timely treatment and support for children from birth through age 21.

helpful info

join the line from wherever you are

Kids Express is a walk-in clinic, so you don’t need an appointment to be seen. To make things more convenient, you can join the line before you come. This gives you an estimated arrival time so you can wait wherever you are most comfortable. Walk-ins are always welcome, but we make an effort to see families who join the line ahead of time first. Some conditions can even be treated through a Kids Express video visit from the comfort of home.

Please note: Joining the line before you come is not a reservation or an appointment. It is an estimated arrival time, meaning you may still have to wait when you get here.

what to expect
When you visit a Dayton Children’s urgent care location, you can expect the same pediatric difference that you experience at all of our locations. Kids are not little adults and deserve care designed just for them.

Our board-certified pediatricians are available to care for your child when their primary care doctor isn’t available. We can send a summary of the visit to your child’s primary care provider, with your permission, to ensure they stay informed about your child’s care.
