"I would like to thank Rita for making special arrangements in obtaining volunteers on Friday, May 14, 2010 and Saturday, May 15, 2010 for a patient on three east who was involved in a motor vehicle accident. The patient’s mother passed away and the funeral/viewing was on Friday and Saturday. The patient’s father was very concerned that no one would be with his daughter while family was gone from Dayton Children's. I contacted Rita late in the day on Thursday, May 13, to make the volunteer request. Rita knew how important having a volunteer to be with patient was and went over and beyond to ensure the patient was not alone. Rita is a true team player."

The Dayton Police Department and the Dayton Fire Department have teamed up with the Dayton Dragons to host “Battle of the Badges,” a charity softball game, on June 23, 2013 to benefit the CARE House. The Dragons host the Lansing Lugnuts at 4 PM that afternoon and the softball game between Dayton’s finest will follow.
