occupational therapy services and programs

We provide services to children of all ages, from newborn through the teen years. Some of the services we offer patients include:

inpatient occupational therapy

Occupational therapy ( OT) is offered for patients admitted to the hospital to help children prepare for discharge and return to home. Inpatient OT is designed to increase strength, flexibility and function including self-help skills such as hygiene, dressing, bathing and feeding, and fine motor skills. Some patients who are admitted for longer admissions may require occupational therapy to keep up with strength, endurance, or developmental milestones during the hospital stay.

Inpatient OT is offered 7 days per week based upon the recommended frequency of therapy. Once evaluated, OT is provided at the frequency required to meet goals. This can range from once per day to once per week as needed in preparation for discharge.

NICU- inpatient occupational therapy is also provided in the NICU to help with positioning and development as well as infant massage for the preterm and term newborns requiring additional developmental support. Physicians and nurse practitioners in the NICU determine when the infant is medically stable for OT services.
