Parents and/or legal guardians of hospitalized patients are encouraged to stay with their child during their stay. To respect all patients, the hospital staff may limit the number of visitors in a patient’s room to one parent overnight. Each room offers either a chair or couch for resting.

special care units

Special care units (such as pediatric intensive care and the newborn intensive care unit) have limited visiting privileges. Check with special care units for visiting information.

The Ronald McDonald House

The Ronald McDonald House (RMH), located across the street from Dayton Children’s, offers families overnight accommodations as space allows. Those traveling the greatest distances and whose children are very sick are given priority.

The Ronald McDonald House has 14 bedrooms with private baths; a large kitchen with hot meals provided; two family rooms, as well as a play area, laundry facilities, a patio and free parking.
