Objectives:

  1. Discuss the physiology of menarche and the menstrual cycle.
  2. Describe normal variation in early menses.
  3. Cite how to workup abnormal menstrual bleeding.
  4. Recognize basic treatment options for abnormal menstrual bleeding in the adolescent.
