That’s why Dayton Children’s surgical services are available at two easily accessible locations: our main campus in Dayton and our south campus in Springboro.

Our same-day surgery program is especially popular with families, minimizing time away from school and work. Plus, with options for video visits and streamlined scheduling, we make it easier than ever to navigate your child’s surgical journey. Preparing for surgery can be overwhelming – both for the child and their family. That’s why we created this helpful video to walk you through what to expect when you come to Dayton Children’s for a surgery. From check-in to recovery, you’ll get a clear, step-by-step look at the process, meet some of the friendly faces who will care for your child, and learn how we made the experience safe, smooth and as comforting as possible. Whether it’s your first visit or you’ve been here before, the video is designed to help you feel confident and prepared. 

where to park

  • Main campus: Park in the free parking garage and come in the main entrance. Your first stop will be the welcome center in the main lobby. They will guide you to the surgery center on the second floor.
  • South campus: Park in the center of the lot. Go in the entrance on the right side of the building, then take the elevator or stairs to the second floor surgery registration area.

billing and insurance

  • Co-payments will be collected at the time of surgery and can be paid with cash, personal check or major credit card. We can give you an estimate, but your insurance company can tell you how much your copay will be.
  • You may receive three bills. One from the surgeon, one from Dayton Children’s, and one from Children’s Oncology Group, Inc. (provides anesthesia services).
  • Bring your health insurance card on the day of surgery.
