Dayton Children's Outpatient Care Center - Springboro celebrates one year anniversary
Dr. Ramey to speak at event on December 3
Dayton Children's Outpatient Care Center - Springboro celebrates its one year anniversary on November 7. In the past year, the Outpatient Care Center has treated over 12,000 patients in the urgent care, seen over 4,500 patients in the lab and medical imaging and provided over 10,500 therapy sessions and evaluations in the rehabilitative services department.
"This center is all about making it as convenient as possible for parents and families to get specialized pediatric care for their children close to home," says Matt Graybill, vice president for business development and planning at Dayton Children's.
"In the past year, we have treated thousands of children at our Springboro facility alone. This is proof that families south of Dayton trust our pediatric experts."
In March, the center was officially LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified by the U.S. Green Building Council (USBGC) certification. Some features of the Springboro facility include a "cool" roof to reduce the energy needed for heating and cooling, energy-efficient heating and cooling systems, new materials from recycled content, a recycling program, and reducing lawn and plant watering needs by 50 percent.
"Dayton Children's is dedicated to doing our part to improve the environment for not only our patients, but also for our global community," says Edd McGatha, director of facilities at Dayton Children's.
To celebrate its one year anniversary, Greg Ramey, PhD, child psychologist at Dayton Children's will give a presentation to parents on Thursday, December 3, at 6:30 pm at Dayton Children's Outpatient Care Center - Springboro.
Dr. Ramey will discuss "Kids and their Technological Worlds" and will provide recent research on internet usage, cell phones and television and some concrete implications for today's parents. Seating is limited and an RSVP is required. E-mail Betsy Woods at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 937-641-3619.
