Dayton boasts culturally rich museums and visual art centers – The Dayton Art Institute and the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery to name two- and the Schuster Performing Arts Center hosts performances, exhibits, and events from first class world touring groups and popular community organizations such as the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, the Dayton Opera and the Dayton Ballet.

The United States Air Force Museum - the oldest and largest military and aviation museum in the country- features a fascinating collection of both modern and old-fashioned flight apparatus.

The history of Dayton is also alive throughout the region thanks to the many locations operated by Dayton History. Consisting of six locations including Carillon Historical Park, the Archive Center, Hawthorn Hill, Patterson Homestead, Old Court House, and Memorial Hall, Daytonians and visitors alike can enjoy learning about the rich history that has made Dayton what it is today.

If you love baseball, then you will love the Dayton Dragons. The Dragons are Dayton’s minor league baseball team and an affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. The Dragon’s play at Fifth-Third field in the heart of downtown Dayton and hold the record for the most consecutive sell-outs in all of sports.

Dayton is also home to many college sports including the University of Dayton men’s basketball team. Each year the NCAA holds the First Four of March Madness in the University of Dayton basketball arena.

If you love to hike or to just sit and enjoy a picnic in the park then Dayton is the place for you. Five Rivers Metro Parks boasts 19 parks throughout the Dayton region featuring something for everyone. From bike trails and fishing to children’s gardens and waterfalls the Metro Parks are the perfect places to enjoy the beautiful scenery that Dayton has to offer!
