what we do

Our orthopedic and sports physical therapists design and implement programs for the management of disorders such as:

sports injuries

orthopedic conditions

neurological conditions

injury prevention
Sportsmetrics™ is the first program scientifically proven to decrease knee injuries in athletes, especially females.  Neuromuscular training not only increases muscular power and jump height but also decreases impact forces at the knee helping young athletes avoid non-contact ACL injuries and improve performance. Sportsmetrics™ is a program that focuses on the female athlete’s needs in training, but Sportsmetrics™ is not just for females!  Males will also benefit from developing overall leg strength and perfecting jumping and landing mechanics. Learn more

running clinic
The running clinic at Dayton Children’s Hospital offers a 2D running gait analysis, which utilizes software to capture your running form from a sagittal view (from the side) and a frontal view (from behind). The software captures different angles of joints throughout various points of the running gait cycle. With this software, the physical therapist can analyze biomechanics, and with the addition of a musculoskeletal evaluation, make recommendations to improve running gait. Learn more

Orthopedics and sports medicine physical therapy services include:

IncludeHealth equipment

Our therapy department also partners with IncludeHealth to use one-of-a-kind fitness and rehab equipment. The Access Strength™ features an electronic dial that simply rotates to select the desired weight. This innovation provides a display that’s easy to read and reach at all times. Cloud technology removes the burden of remembering exercises, machine setup, or even how much weight to use. In addition, everything your child performs during their workout is automatically captured. Available through any computer or tablet, you can review your child's workout and progress over time.
