 Objectives:

  1. Describe the dynamic state of the airway microbiology in cystic fibrosis (CF), changes in prevalence over time, and microbiome diversity.
  2. Describe the impact of various pathogens on lung function and mortality, associated changes in the microbiome, and the relevance of antimicrobial resistance in the CF population.
  3. Discuss infection management beginning with prevention and control measures, followed by eradication protocols, chronic suppressive therapy, and management of pulmonary exacerbations.
