Objectives:

  1. Review appropriate medical care for a pregnant patient who has HIV.
  2. List the basic tenets of managing antiretroviral therapy in a pregnant woman with HIV.
  3. Discuss proper care of the HIV exposed infant with regard to antiretroviral medication and medical follow-up.
