Dayton Children’s offers a wide range of mental health services across multiple locations to meet the diverse needs of children and families in our community. Whether your child needs crisis stabilization, inpatient care, outpatient therapy or early prevention support, our facilities are designed to provide compassionate, expert care in safe and welcoming environments.

If you or your child need immediate help due to having suicidal thoughts, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988 or text the Crisis Text Line by texting “START” to 741-741. If there is an immediate safety concern, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

When your child is in a mental health crisis and has no physical injuries, you can find care at the Price Family Mental Health Crisis Center, located in the Mathile Center for Mental Health and Wellness. The crisis center is designed to evaluate children in a safe, caring and effective way that are experiencing a mental health crisis. Our trained mental health clinicians will provide an assessment and connect children to the appropriate services, which may be inpatient, day treatment or outpatient services.

The Mental Health Resource Connection program connects patients and families to available mental health services at Dayton Children’s and in the community – striving to improve the mental health and wellness of children within our reach. This service is administered by behavioral health specialists experienced in evaluating pediatric mental health needs and the services required to meet those needs.
