During the The Little Exchange Annual Meeting on August 31, 2011, Board President Nancy Rambasek presented a check for $12,000 to The Children’s Medical Center of Dayton for continuing support of the Family Resource Center at the hospital. Susan Brockman, Patient-Family Communications Manager, and Jill Lewis, Development Associate, Annual Gifts, graciously accepted the donation. Along with the check, 12 wagons were donated by the volunteers of the Little Exchange to help with transporting patients around the medical center.
Construction is underway for the new location of the Family Resource Center, which will be located just off the main lobby. The Resource Center provides kits on controlling allergens, bicycle safety, car seat safety, etc., along with instructional books and DVD’s on all types of health conditions. In addition to providing information on health and safety issues, the Family Resource Center will also be partnering with Legal Aid to provide a lawyer one day per week to consult patients’ families on financial and legal issues. The center also loans books and DVD’s to schools and health departments.
