Gem City Jam & Hoopla raises $110,000

On a glorious day for golf, Dayton Children's raised $110,000 during the third annual Gem City Jam & Hoopla golf outing. The event was hosted by the TWIG Auxiliary at NCR Country Club in Kettering on August 23. The event featured golf on both the north and south course, a lively silent and live auction, and presentations from the men's basketball coaches at the University of Dayton and Wright State University during dinner. Special thanks are extended to the Slam Dunk presenting sponsors, Morris Furniture Co. and Economy Linen and Towel Service, MeadWestvaco as the Nothing-but-Net sponsor and the many generous sponsors, golfers and guest who participated in a tremendously fun and successful golf outing. The Dayton Police Department and the Dayton Fire Department have teamed up with the Dayton Dragons to host “Battle of the Badges,” a charity softball game, on June 23, 2013 to benefit the CARE House. The Dragons host the Lansing Lugnuts at 4 PM that afternoon and the softball game between Dayton’s finest will follow.
