The annual visit from the Walmart and Sam's Club associates is a highlight of the holiday season. They ring in the holiday cheer and above all, they bring huge bags of toys for every patient (and plenty of visiting siblings) in the hospital. Santa and one of his elves go room-to-room delivering gifts and cheering up the children. There are lots of wide eyes, laughs and smiles to go around. The associates never leave out the staff. They also deliver trays of cookies and hand-made treats for each department.
This year, the Urbana Walmart store arranged an extra special visitor. Jordon Shipley, wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, joined the associates to deliver the gifts. Jordon autographed footballs and baseball hats to give to kids and posed for endless photographs. Watch the WDTN video here.
We are grateful for the wonderful partnership we have with the area Walmart and Sam's Club stores and look forward to next year's visit.
