Kayleigh Crabtree

Hometown: Beavercreek

School and grade: Fairbook Elementary; 5th grade

Primary Care Pediatrician: Katherine Wingate, MD

Diagnosis: Diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia in 2010

Her doctor at Dayton Children’s: Mukund Dole, MD

What she wants to be when he grows up: A teacher

Her favorite part about being in the World of Hope video: Wearing the pretty pink dress and seeing my dad dress up as the wizard

What she likes about Dayton Children’s: My doctors and nurses

Starring as “The Astronaut”

Nathan McDermott

Age: 10

Hometown: Arcanum

School and grade: Arcanum Elementary; 4th grade

Primary Care Pediatrician: Amy Jones, MD

Diagnosis : Brain Tumor (Feb 2010) Relapse Brain Tumor with several spinal tumors (Nov. 2011) Currently MRI's show that there is no evidence of any tumors.

His doctor at Dayton Children’s: Emmett Broxson JR, MD

What he wants to be when he grows up: Paleontologist

His favorite part about being in the World of Hope video: It was fun acting like an astronaut at the Challenger Center.

What he likes about Dayton Children’s: That because of DCH he is still alive.

Starring as “The Knight”

Zachary Meredith

Age: 9

Hometown: Springboro

School and grade: Five Points Elementary; 3rd grade

Primary Care Pediatrician: Randy Eisenhut, MD

Diagnosis: Diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2011

His doctor at Dayton Children’s: Emmett Broxson, MD

What he wants to be when he grows up: A teacher or a nurse

His favorite part about being in the World of Hope video: Slaying the dragon!

What he likes about Dayton Children’s: The staff
because they take good care of me!

Starring as “The Cowboy”

Evan Fletcher

Age: 6

Hometown: Dayton

School and grade: Wright Brothers Elementary; Kindergarten

Primary Care Pediatrician: Angela Long-Prentice

Diagnosis: Diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma in April of 2012

His doctor at Dayton Children’s: James French, II, MD

What he wants to be when he grows up: Policeman

His favorite part about being in the World of Hope video: The TNT explosion shot.

What he likes about Dayton Children’s: Goofing around with the HemOnc nurses.

Upcoming Events

The Dayton Police Department and the Dayton Fire Department have teamed up with the Dayton Dragons to host “Battle of the Badges,” a charity softball game, on June 23, 2013 to benefit the CARE House. The Dragons host the Lansing Lugnuts at 4 PM that afternoon and the softball game between Dayton’s finest will follow.
