Requirements
Volunteers make a commitment of four hours a week on a regularly scheduled basis and serve a minimum of 100 hours or one year. Volunteer positions are available Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Application Process
The volunteer services department operates on an application-interview process. Personal interviews are scheduled after applications have been received. If selected, the prospective volunteer is scheduled for volunteer orientation. General orientation and completion of required health work is mandatory for all volunteers. The health work consists of TB testing and proof of the volunteer's immunization to rubeola, rubella and chicken pox. This health work can be done by Dayton Children's employee health nurse at no cost to the volunteer.
The volunteer uniform is a blue smock or shirt with the Dayton Children's logo. The cost is $20.00. There are several styles available.
Department-specific orientations will be conducted by the staff in the volunteer's assigned department.
