Volunteer in the gift shopThank you for your interest in volunteering at Dayton Children's. Unless otherwise noted, volunteer positions are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Volunteer position for high school students is available only during the summer. Currently, only adult applications are being accepted. Due to an extremely long waiting list, applications for college students are on hold until further notice.
Gift Shop
Assist customers, sales, pricing and some merchandise display.
Child Life
Assist the child life specialists in the activity rooms, patient room or other areas. Volunteers are needed for shifts Monday through Friday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Volunteer at information desk Greeter/Information Desk
Welcome and assist families and patients with directions, questions, and facilitating other needs.
Outpatient clinic reading program: Days and times to be arranged
Reading to patients while they are waiting for clinic visits. This is part of the Reach Out and Read program.
Patient escort
Taking patients and families to a designated area for treatment.
Various clerical opportunities: Days and times to be arranged
Office-type duties that vary according to assignment.
Outpatient surgery: Tuesday and Friday 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
Assist with presurgery paperwork, escorting patients when discharged and help with waiting area duties.
