Job Description
Wright State University School of Medicine and The Children's Medical Center of Dayton are recruiting for a Medical Director for the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition. The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of associate/full professor, depending on current rank and qualifications. Candidates must have an MD, MBBS or DO degree, have completed an approved pediatric gastroenterology residency, be board certified in pediatric gastroenterology and be able to obtain an unrestricted license in Ohio. Candidates holding an H1B visa are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate must be an outstanding clinician, with experience and expertise in resident and medical student education, and able to conduct or foster the development of clinical and/or basic research within the division. The Medical Director will be responsible for the overall quality, efficiency and growth of the clinical program and customer satisfaction; the quality of the educational programs, and the development of the research activities within the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition. Outstanding opportunities exist for collaboration of research interests and activities within the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. The Division of Gastroenterology currently consists of two pediatric gastroenterologists with a very active clinical practice. There are two clinical nurse practitioners. The GI division has over 7000 outpatient visits per year and performs more than 700 endoscopic procedures. The GI division offers a wide range of services including obesity and cholesterol clinic, motility lab, and a nutritional support clinic. Dayton is a wonderful family oriented community with a new riverfront park, excellent schools, and a new performing arts center.
