Safety On The Go
Our 2012 Kohl's A Minute for Kids program will focus on unintentional injuries resulting from children and families being "on the go" including bicycle injuries, motor vehicle crashes, teen driving incidents and children being left alone inside hot vehicles. With data from our recent pediatric health assessment as well as information from our trauma registry, we know that thousands of children in our service area could be spared injuries and emergency room visits by learning more about these injury risks.
This year, Dayton Children’s received $186,348 from the Kohl’s Cares ® program to support the 2012 Kohl’s A Minute for Kids Campaign. We will be using this generous donation to create radio and television spots featuring ways kids can keep safe on the go.
Here are our key program messages:
Safety In Another Driver's Hands - Know what to ask of anyone who is transporting your precious cargo.
Never Leave Your Child Alone in a Car - Learn ways to prevent the tragedy of leaving children alone in cars.
Put A Lid On It - Learn the correct way a bicycle helmet should fit
Driving Distraction Free - Work with your young driver to keep him or her safe.
