Connecting with your teen

When your youngster is in high school, it may seem that friends replace family in importance. Whereas your 6-year-old wanted to be with you constantly, it may feel that your 16-year-old only approaches you for money or car keys.
 

Try this:

Regardless of what your teen says, it’s very important for you to attend their school events. Stay in close contact with your teen’s teacher, and be sure to go to sporting events or other performances.

It may appear that your presence is not needed or wanted, but it really does matter a lot to your teenager.
