James Rick, MD, has recently joined the pediatric gastroenterology department at The Children’s Medical Center of Dayton. He previously served as chief, department of pediatric gastroenterology and pediatric flight commander and medical director of pediatric flight at Wright-Patterson medical Center.
The addition of Dr. Rick will increase the availability of new patient and follow up appointments in the department of pediatric gastroenterology as well as increase the availability of pediatric gastroenterologists to answer questions from referring physicians.
Dr. Rick received his medical degree from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland in 1993 and completed a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition at the National Capital Consortium in 2002.
His special interests include liver disorders and inflammatory bowel disease.
The gastroenterology and nutrition department at Dayton Children’s provides evaluation and diagnosis for infants, children and adolescents with disease involving the esophagus, stomach, intestines, pancreas and liver. In addition to providing inpatient and outpatient services, the team also conducts research in the areas of nutrition support, GI motility, and diseases of the liver and gastrointestinal tract.
