Dayton Children’s announces new director of perioperative services

Dayton Children’s Hospital is pleased to announce Merewyn Chambers, MSN, RN, CNOR, as the new director of perioperative services for Dayton Children's.

Before arriving to Dayton Children's, Chambers was the clinical director of operative services at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis, overseeing daily operations for 17 operating rooms with five direct reports that managed the following service lines: neurosurgery, cardiac, orthopaedics, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, general surgery, transplant and plastics. Under her direction, Le Bonheur received designation of Level 1 Trauma status.

She also worked for Logan Memorial Hospital as the director of surgical services overseeing orthopaedics, general surgery, ophthalmology, urology, endoscopy and ob/gyn. She also has years of experience as a clinical nurse specialist and as a staff nurse in surgery at Vanderbilt.

Chambers also has significant expertise in introducing new services within service lines, trauma readiness, staffing models, utilization and cost savings.

She received her bachelor of science in nursing from Murray State University and received a master of science in nursing administration from Western Kentucky University. Welcome Merewyn to Dayton Children's!
