Media Release: Dayton Children's announces new Board of Trustees and Foundation Board members

Four community leaders are welcome additions to the Board of Trustees and Foundation Board at Dayton Children's

03-30-2009 (Dayton, OH) - The Children's Medical Center of Dayton is pleased to welcome Jerad Barnett, Robert Johnson, PhD, and Ret. Colonel Colleen Ryan as the newest additions to the hospital's Board of Trustees.

Barnett, of Beavercreek, is the President and CEO of Synergy Building Systems and Mills Development Companies. He is a graduated of the University of Dayton with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and accounting.

Dr. Johnson, also of Beavercreek, is senior vice president at Sinclair Community College. Johnson previously served as a Dayton Children's Foundation Board member. He earned a bachelor's degree from Morehouse College and a master's degree from the University of Cincinnati.

Ret. Colonel Ryan, of Dayton, served as the 88th Air Base Wing Commander at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Currently, she is the vice president for defense programs at the Dayton Development Coalition working on economic development initiatives designed to bring new companies and jobs to the Miami Valley through the BRAC program.

"The experience and knowledge that Jerad, Robert and Colleen bring is a great asset to the Board," says Madonna Allread, Board Chair. "I am excited to collaborate with our new members."

John Ey, president of Radiology Business Managers, Inc. and practice administrator for Dayton Pediatric Imaging, Inc., is the newest member of Dayton Children's Foundation Board. Ey is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and has an MBA in finance from the University of Cincinnati.

John and his wife, Elizabeth, reside in Beavercreek.

"We are thrilled to have John on the Foundation Board," says Natalie King-Albert, Foundation Board Chair. "He brings enthusiasm and fresh ideas to the group."

Chaired by Madonna Allread of Centerville, Dayton Children's is governed by an 18-member community Board of Trustees.

Chaired by Natalie King-Albert of Centerville, the 13-member Foundation Board of Trustees serves to foster endowment gifts, estate gifts and bequests specifically designated to The Children's Medical Center Foundation.

Upcoming Events

Free bike helmets will be given out as part of the Monroe Bike Rodeo this year.

The 1st Annual Logan X. Hess Stop Child Abuse Poker Run and Car Show will take place August 3. The ride begins at the Piqua American Legion and ends at Edison Community College. The car show will be at Edison Community College.

West Carrollton Police will be on hand to insure proper fit for all bike helmets.

Sample the distinctive flavors of the many cultures of Old North Dayton while enjoying entertainment, children's activities and a bicycle decoration competition for ages 9-16. All bike entries MUST be registered with the Dayton Police in advance at or at the Festival at 5:30 PM.
