Dayton Children's Launches Text2Give Campaign

03-24-2010 (Dayton, OH) - Taking a leadership role in the move to incorporate mobile technology into fundraising, The Children's Medical Center of Dayton announced it has launched a new program designed to capture donations via text message. Dayton Children's is part of Children's Miracle Network, one of the first non-profits in the United States to embrace the mobile giving channel.

Dayton Children's has partnered with Mobilecause to promote the Text2Give campaign. Cell phone users are now able to make a $10 donation by simply sending the text message 4KIDS to 85944. Once the text is sent, a confirmation message will be sent back. Users should reply "yes" and the donation will be billed to the mobile user's cell phone bill. Once the carrier pays, Dayton Children's will receive 100 percent of the donation.

"This is a very simple way for friends of Dayton Children's to support our efforts to provide the best pediatric health care for kids in the Miami Valley region," said Bethany Deines, director of annual giving.

"Every gift will be used to purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment for our patient areas."
Dayton Children's has partnered with Mobilecause to promote a Text2Give campaign for the hospital. Mobilecause is a program used to solicit and collect mobile donations which are billed to the mobile user's cell phone bill. Their deep-rooted non-profit understanding and expertise gives the Mobilecause team proven experience and deep understanding of cause marketing, and donor acquisition and retention.
