Haidar Kabbani, MD, has recently joined the pediatric neurology department at Dayton Children’s Hospital. Most recently, he practiced as a Consultant Pediatric Neurologist and Epileptologist at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Kabbani has completed a fellowship in pediatric epilepsy at the Cleveland Clinic. In addition, Dr. Kabbani completed a fellowship in child neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital and a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at the University of Kansas Medical Center . Dr. Kabbani received his medical degree from Damascus University Medical School in Damascus, Syria. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, with special qualification in child neurology and has special interest in epilepsy.
The department of neurology at Dayton Children’s is committed to providing the highest quality care for infants through adolescents with a variety of neurological disorders including Tourette syndrome, cerebral palsy, neurocutaneous diseases, headache and seizure disorders. The neurology team is now composed of five board-certified neurologists, one pediatric nurse practitioner, clinical care coordinators and EEG technologists, all of whom are specially trained to care for pediatric patients. The department offers advanced multidisciplinary diagnostic and therapeutic management 24 hours a day. The inpatient and outpatient EEG lab performs all varieties of electroneurodiagnostic testing, including video EEGs. The dedicated neurology staff also offers a weekly seizure support class to help parents provide better care for their children.
