Rejection:Will attempt to extract DNA and perform assay if hemolysis or clotting are present or if blood is in a preservative other than EDTA.
Normal:N/N genotype
Uses:To detect the Factor V Leiden mutation associated with hereditary thrombophilia. This test is also included in the Thrombophilia Panel.
Limitations:This assay detects ONLY the Leiden mutation in the Factor V gene (R506Q, G1691A).
